Federal Aviation Administration, DOT Section 61.55 (b) Before January 31, 2012, a person may use aeronautical experience obtained in an ultralight vehicle to meet the provisions of Section 61.69. (c) A person using aeronautical experience obtained in an ultralight vehicle to meet the requirements for a certificate or rating specified in paragraph (a) of this section or the requirements of paragraph (b) of this section must - (1) Have been a registered ultralight pilot with an FAA-recognized ultralight organization when that aeronautical experience was obtained; (2) Document and log that aeronautical experience in accordance with the provisions for logging aeronautical experience specified by an FAA-recognized ultralight organization and in accordance with the provisions for logging pilot time in aircraft as specified in Section 61.51; (3) Obtain the aeronautical experience in a category and class of vehicle corresponding to the rating or privilege sought; and (4) Provide the FAA with a certified copy of his or her ultralight pilot records from an FAA-recognized ultralight organization, that - (i) Document that he or she is a registered ultralight pilot with that FAArecognized ultralight organization; and (ii) Indicate that he or she is recognized to operate the category and class of aircraft for which sport pilot privileges are sought. kpayne on VMOFRWIN702 with $$_JOB [Doc. (a) Operations that require a medical certificate. Except as provided for in paragraph (b) of this section, no person who holds a medical certificate issued under part 67 of this chapter may act as pilot in command, or in any other capacity as a required pilot flight crewmember, while that person: (1) Knows or has reason to know of any medical condition that would make the person unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation; or (2) Is taking medication or receiving other treatment for a medical condition that results in the person being unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation. (b) Operations that do not require a medical certificate. For operations provided for in Section 61.23(b) of this part, a person shall not act as pilot in command, or in any other capacity as a required pilot flight crewmember, while that person knows or has reason to know of any medical condition that would make the person unable to operate the aircraft in a safe manner. (c) Operations requiring a medical certificate or a U.S. driver-s license. For operations provided for in Section 61.23(c), a person must meet the provisions of - (1) Paragraph (a) of this section if that person holds a medical certificate issued under part 67 of this chapter and does not hold a U.S. driver-s license. (2) Paragraph (b) of this section if that person holds a U.S. driver-s license. [Doc. (a) A person may serve as a secondin-command of an aircraft type certificated for more than one required pilot flight crewmember or in operations requiring a second-in-command pilot flight crewmember only if that person holds: (1) At least a private pilot certificate with the appropriate category and class rating; and (2) An instrument rating or privilege that applies to the aircraft being flown if the flight is under IFR; and (3) At least a pilot type rating for the aircraft being flown unless the flight will be conducted as domestic flight operations within the United States airspace.
